Girling Jones partnered with QUBA Solutions in August 2018 after using a previous provider for four years. Looking for a back office payroll and funding solution, Girling Jones were keen to look for a provider that was offering a more personal service combined with a high end IT solution.

Girling Jones, are a specialist recruitment agency working across three core divisions: Construction, Consultancy and Maintenance recruitment consultants. The agency pride themselves on being different to many agencies, with the core principle of training their staff on the technical aspects of their three core divisions, as well as teaching employees about how to recruit professionally.

What was your initial introduction to QUBA?

We had a number of initial meetings to scope out our requirements, which was helpful for both us and QUBA to understand our business, the process and how the relationship would work. We also had the pleasure of visiting the QUBA offices, which allowed us to get a feel for the set up.

Rik and Paul then dedicated their time to come down to our office on the day of our audit. They spent a day training our payroll manager, working through the system and finally spent the day with us on our first new payroll.

How was the transfer?

The transfer was painless and we barely noticed the change. The platform offered at QUBA Solutions is simple to use. It has allowed us to generate a number of reports that we were previously completing manually, which as you can imagine required a lot of internal time.

Finally the payroll and credit control team are friendly, flexible and proactive giving us confidence our invoicing is in good hands.

The results

So our core reasons for partnering with QUBA was really a push from our previous payroll partner. They had become much too big, very corporate, very stiff, structured. There was no flexibility and they lost the personal touch. And that’s exactly what we’re looking for, a sort of a more personal, flexible service.  And that’s what we got with QUBA.

The dynamic dashboard, I can use it, which speaks volumes! It’s really simple. It gives you all the information at a glance when you come on from client credit limits through to how much you’ve currently spent with other clients. You can very, very easily find what timesheets are outstanding, whereabouts they are in the process. And there’s not too much in it. There’s not too much additional clutter that you don’t need.
